No sticky residue

No slimy Pits

No stains!

No melting!

No reapplying!

No synthetic fragrance

No endocrine disruptors

No Phytoestrogens

No neurotoxin

No aluminum

No chlorohydrate,

No parabens,

No propylene glycol

No triclosan.

Time for a quick science lesson! Sweat on your body doesn’t cause odor on its own, but when it mixes with the natural bacteria in your skin, that’s when it has the potential to get that distinct and often unpleasant smell. Antiperspirants and standard deodorants clog the pores to prevent you from sweating, therefore eliminating the smell at the cost of your pores. Natural deodorants work in reverse. By treating the bacteria rather than blocking your pores and your natural sweat, you’ll have reduced or completely eliminated body odor.

Standard antiperspirants and deodorants may actually be making your odor problem WORSE in the end. Since the pores end up clogged when using standard products, the sweat builds up under the skin, which causes a buildup of good bacteria that feed on your sweat and serves as a breeding ground for bad bacteria as well, which can make your sweat smell even worse. In short, science even says please switch over to our deodorant for the sake of health, smell, and general happiness.

Basically, not a single harmful ingredient that causes cancer, infertility, clogs your pores, messes with your lymphatic system, spreads germs, or interacts with your body’s PH levels (hello baking soda rash).

Now, let’s talk about the biggest reason to switch: CANCER RISK IS HIGH.

Studies show that breast cancer most often develops in the upper outer quarter of a breast, which is the area closest to the armpit – where deodorant is normally applied. This has led some people to wonder if there is a connection between breast cancer and the use of deodorant products.

It’s important to understand that breast tissue isn’t spread equally over the four quadrants that make up a breast; of the four, the upper outer quadrant has the most breast tissue. When you consider the amount of breast tissue in this area, the proportion of cancers that develop there makes sense. Nevertheless, some researchers suggest that an increase in the use of antiperspirants correlates to a rise in the incidence of breast cancer.

The active ingredient in most antiperspirants is aluminum, which blocks the sweat glands in order to inhibit perspiration. Additionally, some antiperspirants – and deodorants – contain parabens which are used widely as preservatives in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, and even as food additives, primarily for their bactericidal and fungicidal properties. Both aluminum and parabens are potential endocrine disruptors, which means they have potential to mimic estrogen and interfere with the body’s hormone levels at least in laboratory (non-human) studies.

These are all issues in 75-90% of all products on the market, even the “natural ones”. Yeah, not cool! Our active ingredient actually has an A rating from EWG, a website that rates each ingredient by safety level, meaning it can’t get any safer. 100% ALL natural, Safe, and NON-TOXIC. And, Uhmm, it has CRYSTALS!

It’s a love note to your pits, or any other area you’d like a little odor protection! Yep, it can be used on any area of the body as long as you follow the care tips.

Our active ingredient, lactic acid is perfectly paired with a balance of synergistic ingredients.
Lactic acid exfoliates the skin. It helps the older, dull cells on the skin’s surface to slough away by dissolving the bonds that hold them together. Lactic acid speeds up cell turnover and stimulates cell renewal. Most ingredients just keep killing skin cells, resulting in even MORE odor because that dead skin is then covered with more chemicals and ingredients that create a barrier to the bacteria and it’s an endless odor and gross cycle of dead skin, chemicals, and more bacteria. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it?

Lactic acid helps dissolve the plug of skin cells that build up around the hair follicle, smoothing out the bumpiness, and allowing the new bacteria to be easily accessed with a single light spray of the product. This is why you can sometimes go 1-3 days without smelling again!

However, As the acid sloughs away skin cells, it leaves new cells more vulnerable to UV damage. Shaving also acts as an exfoliant which is why you need to take extra care when applying to freshly shaven skin or when exposing skin to the sun. As long as you’re doing these two things, your skin is safe and protected.

When you start using Zen Pits, you must be committed to protecting your skin and following the directions to avoid irritation. Monitor your skin carefully and scale back or stop using the product if you notice any irritation. If you have any irritation give your skin a day or two break, then try again by spraying on skin, waiting 15-30 seconds then simply wash off! You’ll still kill the bacteria but your skin won’t be exposed to the active ingredient long term to cause irritation to sensitive skin.

Additional Care tips:
Give your pits a 3-day detox of all other products before beginning. This removes the build-up of residues from other products and gives your product a clean slate to work with. If you don’t do this, you could cause ingredient interactions.

Don’t put any lotions, creams, or serums on your pits or anywhere you are using the product.

Always avoid direct exposure to the sun immediately after applying. If you plan on spending the day at the beach, you may just want to skip using that day!

If possible, apply 12 hours away from shaving.

If you have known sensitive skin, start with one spray every other day.

Each person’s skin is as unique as they are. With Zen Pits all you have to do is listen to your skin and adjust your sprays and frequency accordingly. You may need and do great with a daily spray, you may find a spray every 2nd or third day is ideal. The key is you want to tune in and use as needed, not simply apply every day out of habit (goodbye old days of deodorant application). If you use more than you actually need, you may get irritation. Every drop of Zen Pits is POTENT, which is why it is so amazing, but if overused can turn harsh. Experiment, adjust, and be a tad patient during the learning curve. It is SO worth it! Remember, the 3 most common reasons you will get irritation is if you apply too close to shaving (especially with dull razors), use before direct prolonged sun exposure, or use more than your body needs. You can’t cheat the system, so make sure to follow these user guidelines carefully!

Once you finish your bottle, you can pour out the crystals, rinse and keep them!

Directions: Use 1-3 Sprays per underarm. Do not apply close to shaving or sun exposure. Please read full directions included with purchase before use. 300 Sprays per bottle. (Lasts 3-5 MONTHS)
